Yes….carry a roll of vet wrap or elastic bandage and some dressing material….a bandana will work.  If that doesn’t work, you will need to apply pressure to the appropriate artery.  Just don’t use a tourniquet….that’s a LAST resort. Just remember ABC….Airway, Breathing, Circulation.  If you don’t have that, nothing else matters.

I find myself confused as to just what we ARE supposed to do if we find a person in need of first aid.  We can't put on a Band-Aid, yet what if someone is bleeding.  I guess if someone is bleeding heavily, we apply pressure in the proper spot to control it and send the other rider for help.  Maybe the restrictions are just for the state park in which we patrol.
