[RC] Endurance and the Sweepstakes program - Lynne Glazer

Now that the Nationals are over, I hope you'll be paying attention to the "rest of the Arabian world". I would be quite miffed to find out that you are planning to discontinue the endurance component of the Sweepstakes program. A lot of us bought horses partly on the basis of their Sweepstakes in utero entries, horses for whom a show career was never in the plan.

Endurance is a showcase for this breed--it seems that apparently you guys think that only arena activities make this breed attractive to the average horse owner, I thought the Sweepstakes program was to incentivize participation. Your discontinuation of distance riding as a Sweepstakes category merely widens the division within the breed. Us vs them. I personally like a "pretty horse than can DO", (a "using" horse) myself.

Guess I should be glad I didn't sweepstakes nominate my Lipizzan-Arab kid, though she could be competitive in one of your arena classes, dressage.

2 Sweepstakes horses:
Celesteele (starting his first year of 50s)
Rem-member Me (one top 5)
