[RC] names of horses - Carol Suggs

Had to chime in on this.

Every mare my grandfather owned he called Babe.   I then realized that he had a bad memory and just about every female he would call Babe.

Previous names for horses that we had were:Serena, Misty, Mister, Star, Mariah, Tasha, Spirit Dancer, Caleb

We have a horse named Scribblin' Mindy  (Mindy for short), One of my good friends has a horse named Morkinic (Mork for short)...we think its funny when we ride together with Mindy and Mork....the kids don't get what our personal joke is (nanu nanu).

8 years ago we bought a two year old filly, her name is APAGE TO REMEMBER.  Her barn name was Blossom.
Because she was to be my husbands horse, he just couldn't deal with the name Blossom.  For several months she didn't have a barn name and we finally settled on Princess.  Simply because she was treated like one...nice new blanket, shavings every nite in her stall, lots of pampering...well she doesn't get that now and a Princess SHE IS NOT.  She is a very bitchy lead mare with an attitude.  Funny how he could accept the name Princess, but not Blossom!

My total favorite is some friend of ours had a mare named BITCHY.  And she was just that.  Well we couldn't have the grandkids call the horse that so she was renamed to be Momma B.  When Momma B had a baby that turned out to have an attitude just like her the baby got dubbed, Little B.
