Re: [RC] Competition Question - Linda Nichols

Title: Re: [RC]   Competition Question
Don, I’m wondering what to do with my horse when the season ends. This is my first year in endurance and only managed to do 2 LD and am planning on doing one more LD and that’s the end of the season. Will my horse ever be up to 50 milers if I let him rest this winter?

Linda

For all the horses I have owned it has always been very beneficial to sit out 6-8 months then do minimal competition cause all those unknown tweaks and sprains heal up, pull the shoes (but trim often) and the hooves improve, they gain some weight and always end up with a better attitude.
