[RC] Best horse boots for trail riding? - Karen Koch

Hey all! With the holidays coming up I'm debating presents to cover all the things it would be hard to afford on my own. <g> I'm thinking about doing more trail riding next year, and am really interested in not putting shoes on my Morgan gelding - just seems to violate all the biomechanics of the hoof. He has never worn shoes, and has (knock on wood, cross fingers, burn incense, sacrifice chocolate, etc) wonderful feet. With all the boots that are now out there, I was wondering what everyone recommends as the best boots for trail riding. And whether one should get boots for all four feet or just the front. We're based in Minnesota for the time being if that affects your answer at all. Thanks! (BTW - I've switched to a treeless saddle based in part on advice and discussion on this list, and we both just love it. I may be in the process of converting an entire dressage boarding barn to treeless.)
