Even if you raise it at the coupler 4 inches - it will not translate to 4 inches at the back of the bed plus your horses will be riding uphill. The best way is to rasie the whole trailer at the axles.

As for keeping the coupler from sliding - find a gorilla to tighten it. Mine has been in the same spot for 8 years without an anti slide device.

Even with the bolts tight, without the cuff I can see it would slide. Anybody have an idea what I am trying to describe and where I might find this particular part? I googled it but am not finding what I am looking for so maybe if I knew exactly what it was called, that might help.
