Re: [RC] Hay--How Much to Feed? Feed x Weight, not Volume - Mary Sutliff

A few years back I learned that two of my
"easy keeper" horses were actually insulin resistant and I learned that
you can't tell the NFC of hay by looking at it. Awful looking hay can
still have a high sugar and carb content so you really need to have the
hay tested. I have been able to purchase some wonderful looking grass
hays that had low NFC and this is what our easy keepers need. I still
feed by weight & a little bit of beet pulp goes a long way! Go to
www.safergrass.com for more info.
