Re: [RC] [RC] Hilason treeless saddle? - Karla Watson

Have you looked at the Barefoot treeless? They are more reasonably priced and we are now seeing some that are for sale used. I don't have one yet, but am considering one. Anyone ride in the Trekker treeless from the UK?? Please respond to me: karlawatson@xxxxxxxxxxx

That does sound good....have you checked to see if you can slip your hands under the base of the pommel when
you are in the saddle  on the horse?  They did look narrow there to me.

As far as stirrups more forward....my complaint about the Bob Marshall is that the stirrups were too far forward
on most models, especially the Western style ones.  That would force your weight back against the cantle and
put the rider in a chair seat...not good for the back of the horse.  On my endurance and schooling models I had stirups set back about 2", in order to have my heels in line with my hips and be able to post correctly.  I just can't imagnine
the stirrups any more forward though....but everyone is different....

I -love- my Hilason treeless.

I actually like it much better than my previous Bob Marshall which wore down way to quickly.  It lost it's shape.  They moved the stirrups more forward on my Hilisaon which I appreciate.

You will need to turn the stirrups back though, because they will be stiff.  I had a saddle maker look at it and he loved it.

No complaints on my end.

sorry Jackie, they look to be quick and dirty replicas of Bob Marshall and Torsion.

You can email the company with questions and they never respond back.

lots of discussion on all the various treeless and tons of links and photos.

I'm thinking about purchasing my daughter a treeless saddle for her PMU "foal" who is now 26 months 15.3 and will be growing for a long time. She is just now starting to get on and walk him aroud the arena. She's using my old Equigel Thorogood dressage saddle which already doesn't fit. Is anyone familiar with the Hilason Treeless? I don't want to spend a lot of money at this point so some of the other treeless saddles I'm familiar with are out.

:) Jackie
