As usual, great photos, but I'm a little concerned about that pic. of the SHREDDED tire. What happened there? Everyone ok? Have fun for those of us that can't be there. : )

Well, that is a story in itself <G>. There have been a few riders who have had flats and other mechanical difficulties on this ride. Luckily for all concerned, Duane Fredrickson is here, and he can fix anything, and does! :) I should count up the total # of flats and other things. That particular flat/blowout was on a rig coming to camp. The rider took her two horses out of the trailer and rode them into camp, where she found Duane who went out and found her husband with the rig and between them and a few back and forth trips, they managed to get the tire changed. That's the short version of the story.

Today was another nice day on the ride, the weather is perfect. The two gals from North Carolina are enjoying themselves, they rode today too and finished just behind myself and Becky Hackworth. Yesterday they told me they were excited and looking forward to doing a ride where they could ride all day and their horses wouldn't see camp until they were finished. :) Today we had lunch in camp, but didn't repeat any trail and todays trail was completely different from yesterdays. Tomorrow is another completely different trail, and lunch is out of camp. The only ones behind us today were John Parke and his wife, and Laura Hayes who I understand had a bit of a wild ride on one of John's pony's. She came in at lunch walking like Trilby. I'll let her explain the rest of that story :P

The trail had a lot of blow-down, so there were trees down everywhere. They think they probably cut and moved more than 2000 trees from the trail, and will be heading out again at 4 a.m. tomorrow try and keep up ahead of the riders and each days trail. It is really quite amazing how much work these guys have done to get this trail passable.

Tomorrow I'll try to get photos up from today and the ones I'll take tomorrow. I'm really glad I only brought one horse, as I don't think I have the energy to take care of an extra one. It's only 8 o'clock and I'm wiped. The good news is that the horse isn't, so he gets to go again tomorrow and wear me out some more, looks like. I'll also try to get more info on the results and things. I think there were about 60 riders today.
