Re: [RC] TWH as endurance horses - Truman Prevatt

My wife's Arab has to canter to keep up with my Arab's trot. My Arab will walk /trot up when he is behind her's doing a trot. When I was riding the mare (Walker) and she was riding the Arab I'm now riding - they would move together fairly nicely. They were perfectly paced but it was close enough to work. It's very seldom that you find a matched pair of any breed that can move comfortably together all the time.

Terry,

I have a 15.2 hh walking mare and when I first started endurance I rode with a woman who had a 15 or so hand arab. She said we paced together better then anyone. My mare did a fast walk and her arab was doing a working trot. We kept together perfectly. Just a different experience then what other people are saying so it may depend on the height and stride more then the different breeds.
