[RC] Bringing 'em back in the spring -- what kind of work? - Jonni

How do you bring your horses back from a rest? <<<

Depends on the horse, and what kind of base it had, going into the rest. A
horse that has a good, solid base, can get back to work much quicker and
easier than one who had not yet developed a strong base of conditioning. I
start off slow, and let the horse tell me what kind of training rides they
are ready to do. Some can almost step right in where they left off before
the rest after a 6-10 week winter rest. Others need more time, and slowly
built back up.
