Re: [RC] vets - Diane Trefethen

I can't speak about vets in other regions but here in the West, dispite some of the VC parameters being somewhat subjective, I have not heard of or experienced even one example of a vet subjectively manipulating the system, for or against any rider. Making VC protocols as objective as possible is a worthy goal and stating exactly what the CRI criteria will be at each ride should be part of the pre-ride meeting just as stating the maximum pulse rate is. However, I think painting vets as politicians, "all of whom have a price of some kind", borders on libelous and is simply not justified by the thousands of VC contacts riders have had with our vets over the years. As to complaining, just try to stop our riders out here in the West from complaining about an injustice and you'll get a reaction that will make killer bees look like cuddly little pets by comparison.
