Re: [RC] glucosamine - Barbara McCrary

Having been aware for some time of Hyaluronic Acid being injected (I think) into horses' joints, I have wondered if there are any drawbacks to the oral form for humans. It is offered as a nutritional supplement, and as such, has not been tested by the FDA. Has anyone on Ridecamp taken the HA along with Glucosamine and Chondroitin? Any reactions? Any downside? Any glowing reports of good results?

Barbara

Hi Margaret--
Glucosamine HCL is a more pure form of glucosamine, containing 83% glucosamine, as opposed to glucosamine sulfate at 60%. Both glucosamine and chondroitin have been used alone with good results, and there is evidence that suggests they may be even better used together. Bruce Weary>

And now there is an oral form of Hyaluronic Acid--the three together make for a powerful nutritional tool.
