Well, I don't use any of those things -- and especially in the quantity that I use gasoline when I'm hauling a horse around.  I will be driving 850 miles this weekend to go to a ride, and will be spending a minimum - a minimum! - of $170 just for gas.  That's assuming I can find $3.00/gal gasoline, which I may not be able to.  It's more like $3.12/gal.
 
I remember when I could fill my first car (in 1972) for $3.00 and go for 250 miles...  If that were translated to today's prices and wages, I should be making about $30 an hour, and I'm not... anywhere near.
