[RC] Automatic Waterers - Donna Coss

I swear by the Nelson automatic waterers. I have 14 of them
distributed around my barn and stalls and there is little maintenance
needed. Change the filter once in awhile, clean the stainless steel
bowl that you can remove without any problem, adjust the water flow and
that is about it! They cannot overflow, because all the excess water
would run run down into the six foot tube and there is no way a horse
can damage the waterer. The ones outside in the pasture stay below
freezing and the horses always know they have fresh water. In fact, we
have never had a case of colic with our home bred horses. Probably
because they have never, ever in their lifetime been without water.
Yes, they were expensive, but have more then paid for themselves, as we
have never struggled with water hoses or breaking ice on tanks. Its a
luxury that I feel has more then paid for itself.
