[RC] TEFF not high in protein - andreab

Hi Ann

I must disagree with the previous post. Teff hay is not high in protein. In
fact the
protein level is very similar to any other grass hay (around 5-6% protein).
Obviously
this can vary slightly in different areas but will NEVER be anything close to
the protein
levels in Alfalfa.

I switched over to Teff a year ago as it is the only real forage available which
phosphoros/calcium levels are perfectly balanced. This way I don't have to do
any quess
work on how much Alfalfa to feed with my other hay to get the correct balance.
It is also
a cooling feed, you'll find a calmer horse on Teff!

Hope this helps
Regards
Andrea
