[RC] RE: [RC] Re: [RC] bosana boots? - Steph Teeter

Yes, I've tried it with limited success. It worked pretty well on my horse with smaller feet and more cupped soles - but I haven't had luck with the large footed horses. The terrain here is rocky and pebbly in places, seems to be harder on pads and packing. Another rider here (Tom Dean) did all three days with the black vettec product - under bar shoes. He had great success, I think the bar shoe helps keep the stuff in place. If I can't find a boot that works that might be my next option - but I may still have the same issues with sole health.

Steph, Have you tried Equithane?  I have had great success with it.   Put it in the  night before the ride, pop it out in 5 seconds at the end of the ride. I have done mulit-day rides of 4 days with it, never had a problem. I do not use the mesh suggested by some.  The big deal is to be sure the sole of the foot is absolutely dry and you have cleaned out under  the inner rim of the shoe. Julie
PS Skip Dyke at 8-5-489-1832 sells it.  The caulking gun is expensive, but will last forever.
