Re: [RC] [RC] beer to horses - Juli Jakub

Just to let you know we use to feed beer to a horse on vet's orders. He had a condition in which his sweat glands did not work properly and beer has something in it that helps them sweat...so he got beer three times a day in his grain!! Was a grand fun jumper that horse...wish I could remember his name...my mustang prefers dark beer while my Morab filly prefers lighter brews!!

some...lesson learned, she gets hers in her crate removed from the other girls

I'm of Irish blood and have a horse that
absolutely loves beer. I asked a few vets if I should let him have beer
according to his age or his weight. The vets seem to be in some
disagreement to this - some say weight and some say age as the horse is now
seven. If we go by weight, he gets three cases, but if we go by
age, he only gets a couple of sips. He of course thinks we should go by
weight, I can only afford to go by weight.
