Re: [RC] cost sharing to rides - Kristen A Fisher

I think that is very fair. If you pay someone to haul your horse, the bare minimum you will pay is 50 cents/mile.

Subject: [RC] cost sharing to rides

This something that is going to become more common with the higher fuel prices
What do people think is fair.
I have always done 2/3 fuel to the companion and 1/3 fuel to the person supplying the rig.
I have had riders think this is terrible. That they should only pay 1/2 the fuel BUT my transmission just went on my truck and I am now paying $3500 CAD to put it back on the road.
It costs BIG bucks to keep a rig running in maintance, tires, insurance and cleaning.
I also had to buy the rig in the first place.
