[RC] Electric shock collars for horses (vice breaker) - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I remember from The Horse article that they said you should
not use a dog electric collar on horses that even the lowest
setting was too high for horses. (Just repeating what they
said). I do recall that they had very good success with
teaching a mare that kicked other horses in the field not to do
that. They said that the mare looked really surprised when
she started to go after the other horse and they shocked her,
something like "Whoa, she did that to ME and I wasn't even
close." They said it may take more than one session but at
least for that type of behavior it works. I have heard of one
trainer that used it successfully for a horse that ripped at his
blankets. Obviously using it consistently and appropriately is the key. The
horse electric collar is made by Tri-tronics, but
it isn't cheap.
