Yikes!! I meant to say that I pull my mare off of all non-nutiritive
supplements 96 hours (4 days) before a ride, not 48 huors as I said below.
(I was thinking "4 days" and it came out my fingertips as 48.)

I'm surprized that no one called me on that.

A side note: I pull my horse off of all non-nutritive supplements and/or
additives at least 48 hours before the ride as required by most distance
riding sanctioning bodies (inc. AERC). Even so, there was some residual
effect -- I read that the chemical involved accumulates in the fatty tissues
which explains why it takes so long for the horse to clear it from its
system.
