[RC] gaited horses/sore back - Ed Kilpatrick

i think your sore back is probably just a result of poor posture.   when riding the gaited horses, whether it is TWH, peruvian paso, paso fino, foxtrotter, icelandic, etc.,  the rider often gets somewhat complacent in the saddle and begins slouching.  you will notice that you spend a lot of the time just sitting there smiling, and not really thinking about posture and riding.  to alleviate that pain,  get on your toes a bit, put a little curve in your back, and sit up straighter.   try that and see if it makes a difference.      cowboy ed
