[RC] Girth gall healing time? - L gin

Silly me, tried new equipment. Took advice to get a non elastic girth. Got a leather one, very nice very expensive. Put it on rode about 30 minutes (we are out of shape and it actually didn't rain that day). Know your horse. He kept twisting his head around both sides sniffing at my foot/girth area. Also kicking up at his belly. Was a bit off maybe too.
Of course, he was telling me "Yeow, what are you doing to me...."
He had two silver dollar size swellings and the hair rubbed off.Where the girth had lots of layers for the billets to slip into (a dressage girth).
I never had a rub ever on him with my neophrene or Pvc waffle weave girths with elastic on them. And of course I waited past the 30 days before I tried it.....so now I get to sell it.....bet I won't get a hundred bucks for it , like I paid ;0(
Anyway how long do I wait before I can ride him without causing any harm. It wasn't bleeding . Today I felt it and it feels like its callused, like the skin is rough and scalely feeling. One side was worse than the other. Do I wait till it starts to grow hair back? Or is it ok now if I put vaseline or something on it? I don't want to hurt it, but don't want to wait forever either (it may start raining again-- right now we only have 90's and 60-85% humidity ----but if I get up at 6:00 it's 70's and 90% humidity....

Oh, learned to keep singing while riding, massage after, give him a coke after and maybe before exercising ......no wait-give me a coke and a massage and you can sing to me too. ;0)
