[RC] Moving Up...the Next Step - rdcarrie

Got a question for those of you who have done lots of miles, multidays, and/or 75/100 milers.  Suppose you had a horse who has done, say, 6 or 7 50s, finishing in good shape, going really slow on the first ones, but maybe up to 3/4-pack (at most) on the last one or two (no, I don't have a horse there yet...just thinking and hoping ahead).  Which would you try next...an easy 75, or two back-to-back 50s?  Which do you feel would be harder/easier on the horse?  And why?  I don't ever plan to race, just want to ride to complete.  Eventual goal is 100s, hence the desire to move up in mileage.
