You'll change your tune when lightening takes out your entire mast
leaving it nothing but pulp. Happened to me once in the Chesapeake. My
friend who is an Annapolis grad, retired Navy Captain with over 500
carrier landings and has sailed his entire life and owned the boat said
- no big deal. It's last damn time I went sailing.
