RE: [SPAM] [RC] iron defiency? vets? - heidi

The last ride we were at in SC the vet looked at my guys gums and
commented on how white they were.  Had the vet out for shots Friday and
mentioned it to her so she took some blood and done a PCV test I think. 
Called me that night and said it was on the low side of the range.  Should
I be concerned and should I put him on some kind of iron supplement.  He
is on pasture with grass and timothy hay, a good quality sweet feed, daily
wormer, biozin, flax seed, ABC Plus.
Had been looking at the Platinum Performance as an all around supplement.

Please don't assume that anemia is due to iron deficiency!  An excess of
iron can also cause anemia.  You might want to dig a little deeper into
possible causes...
