[RC] [RC] [RC] Heat Rash...? - DreamWeaver

Thanks Karen! Good advice, I'm glad that works. What kind of pad do you ride
in? Also, do you think the heat bumps are caused by simply going from a hot
back to a cold back too fast when the tack comes off, or do you think that the
pad is really too warm for his back alltogether?

I use a toklat woolback pad. When we do rides in the winter it doesn't happen. Have you washed your pad recently with any kind of soap, or have you applied anything to your horses back, like fly spray? When I wash my pads sometimes I will use a cup of baking soda, then I will run them thru the wash a couple more times with no soap.

I've tried other pads, but have never liked any of them as much as my toklats. They have always worked so well, that I'm afraid to change.

Karen
