[RC] one rein stops.... - mkrumlaw

It's wonderful to have an emergency break on your horse, i.e. the "one
rein stop" However, recent events have lead me to believe in the
importance of having your horse be able to do straight stop.

I was starting a young horse on trail and was told had a great one rein
stop. Tested it and yep he sure did. While riding on a very narrow
single track trail with a VERY long drop off to the side this young guy
took the opportunity to take off. I discovered the one rein stop does not
work in all applications. :-)
