[RC] Educational Clinic in FL 10/1-10/2, CTR and Endurance - Gotarace2

FHA/SEDRA Annual Distance Riding Clinic

Florida Horseman’s Association will be holding their annual clinic at the Greenway Trails in Ocala, Fla., Oct. 1st & 2nd.   Included in the clinic will be a SEDRA CRI (Cardiac Recovery Index), P & R (Pulse and Respiration) and CTR (Competitive Trail Ride) scoring training.

If for some reason you have found yourself at a ride and wanted to pitch in and help, here is where it starts! We can really use volunteers to help with P&R’s and CRI’s.

If you desire to improve your CTR scores, come to the clinic and catch a few extra pointers and helpful tips.  Learn how to present your horse in HIS/HER best possible light!

Saddle Fitting: Finding yourself continually questioning your saddle fit?  Already know you need/want another saddle?  Come to the FHA clinic and get hints from Ava Vettenberg an independent saddle fitter. Charge will be $40 to have your horse fitted or auditors are free!

Saturday will be the vet-in for horses participating in the mock ride on Sunday. We will have an equine veterinarian to conduct the vet-in and explain the details of the vet-in procedure. We will go over the scorecard to better understand what to do on the ride.

Sunday we will have a 10-mile mock ride at 3 different speeds, with mentors available on the ride to answer any questions you may have. Participants in the CRI and scoring sessions will have the opportunity to practice their skills and polish up for the upcoming season.

Please visit www.distanceriding.com for more info. Stall reservations will be required at $10 per night, camping fees 7.50 for primitive and $15.00 for electric.  We will also be having a pizza party (with salad) Saturday night!

Fun games for the kids of all ages!
