[RC] so what have you learned this week? - L gin

Subject: [RC] so what have you learned this week?

I'm curious, since Cindy did not respond to my asking exactly "what" she has learned, after her comment she thought people have learned more in the "past 24 hours" that "a whole year" on Ridecamp, tell me, what have YOU learned in the past week about distance riding? What has Mr. Ivers taught you, that you feel you can apply to this sport? Just simple facts, like you were sitting around at a rides campfire, chatting about endurance riding and the latest concepts etc. with friends. Do share. I'd be curious just what folks have picked up from these posts by TI. Jonni

I was thinking the same thing"Whoooaaa, I sez to myself: What are all these digests about?" So I read them all on this rainey Sunday for 3 hrs........

1)."Don't you dare say a thing or ask a question....just let this blow over.
2). Everyones is attacking or being attacked :0(
3) We are supposed to hold out for information....Ok , I like research (ie. that that is within my grasp...If the writer can't disseminate it for the masses, of what use is it on a dusty shelf?
4) Where or where is the info? ; lets try scanning.....and skipping the personal stuff........
5) This is like someone throwing a snapping turtle into the campfire gathering............
6) Seems to be about 85% bantering and attacks and only 20% useful info.....Is this what Trolling is???
7) Some info--- but I already learned that from others on Ridecamp, in a way I could absorb and appreciate.
8) Hope this doesn't make helpful people go away................
9) Is this what those long ago references to Mr. Ivers leaving were about?
10) Who is this guy and why does he remind me of those games some teachers would play---like "Gotcha" -where they would bait the class with a question , so the gullible would try and get the right answer only to be shot down by the teacher with glee--who had set them up so he 'won' and made them feel stupid for asking? --The smart ones learned not to ask, they could get the info elsewhere without having their desire to learn and curiosity destroyed............
11) If there were coherent pieces of info....but it seems to just be phrases with taunts .........not complete sentences........how can you write your storey with sentence fragments..........?
12) Why does he have to add insults to his info? and what is it he has about cows? And Fluff? Actually I remmber Fluff, it now comes in Strawberry too... but old folks don't eat Fluff, it would spike their blood sugar.....
13) Carbo loading, I remmember that subject--hmmm wonder how that fits with the tendency Arabs have to being insulin resistant....?
14) Science is not God. So many so called 'scientific facts' have turned out to be egomaniacs trying to force the data into their preconcieved hypothosis-- Their own frailties fallsify the data... So beware treating any data as a god.
15)However , if you find the same thread in several places...it just may be gold dust........

whooa, back to lurking.......can't do much till the move is done anyway, except wait out this blasted daily rain...........taking cover as I suggest all those without miles do.....
