Mostly a question of body size--harder to cool. but also a muscle fiber type
distribution problem--FT muscles cells burn hot. On the other hand, with good
conditioning, they can be "cooled". I think the best horse for Middle East
enduance, starting from scratch, is probably an anglo. Over 15 hands. Maybe 900
lbs.


Humidity is a factor, but for all horses. Any time you can bring a big fan to
a VC and spray water over the body of the horse with the fan on, you'll get
maximum cooling. That's the best way to handle a big horse in hot muggy
weather. Have to spend money for a gasoline generator, though. Things get critical
from 50 miles on.
