Really? For me, I'd have to start with the vast depth of financial resources of 
the sheiks or the TBred race people.

It's ridiculous to make comparisons to the kind of testing regimes that can be 
run by Tbred racers [people that routinely pay $50-100K stud fees/$500K and up 
for a foal on the ground/$25-50K a year in training plus plus plus...] to the 
sport where to quote Jerry Fruth "all you need is a horse and a trail".

This discussion has gotten a little like Fear Factor to me - the "payoff" isn't 
worth it.

Rilly. A HR monitor costs lest than your riding outfit, a glucometer less than 
$50 after rebates, and an ES can be done by sticking two poles in the 
ground--maybe 50 cents each. The Fear Factor is all in your mind--it's painful 
to think, at least at first.
