OK lets have the facts, Laura gave them to you for last year
for the AERC. Now exactly how many did you see along side
the trail? As you say "Nothing like facts to disabuse
misapprehensions" Where are your supportable facts? How many
horses that you consulted on have died. The facts now Tom.

A total of one endurance horse that I have consulted on has ever died on the
trail, after stepping into a plowed up berm and snapping a leg. I don't know
how many horses died in Syria, in that one race, but it was more than 6. The
Syrian military decided to put on a spectacular show for the TV cameras, for
the first 30 miles. They were all wearing hoof pads made of 1/4" solid steel.
Dropped like flies. But I didn't count 'em. I was tracking two of the 6 or 7
that Al Reef had in the race.
