I just had another thought:

1. Don't feed grain. The sugar will make the horse hard to manage. Ulcers are also a possibility. Lack of chewing will cause stable vices.
2. Don't feed alfalfa. The extra proteen will cause your horse to be hard to cool on hot days. The Ca-P ratio will also be messed up. Enterolyths are sure to follow.
3. Don't let your horse graze in the cool MT mornings, the extra sugar in the grass will make him diabetic. Grass founder is also a possibility.
4. Hay has dust and mold. Sure to cause COPD.
5. We just decided that beet pulp was out.


It seems that every feed or feeding practice can cause problems at least with some horses.
