RE: [RC] electrolytes for people - Chris Paus

Ugh,  The elyte pills are pretty good, but I've tried the Hammer Perpeteum  protein stuff. GROSS. I've got two big cans of the powder in my cupboard that anyone can have.....

I find that I do just as well with protein bars and emergencC and lots of water. I also keep a cooler at  the vet check area and keep liquid yogurt in it for glugging down quickly at rest stops and keep fresh cold bottles of water in there too.

I just joined the Ridecamp list today, but I'll just jump in with this
response. I'm an ultra-runner, that is interested in getting involved
in endurance riding.

If you are just looking for just Electrolytes, there is a series of
products by www.e-caps.com that are excellent. Look under the 'Hammer
Nutrition' section and their product called Endurolytes is a capsule
with salt, potassium, etc. that is excellent.

Their Perpetuem product is a calorie replacement drink that comes in
powder form, that is a very mild flavor.

Hope this helps,
Dave Harper
