[RC] Autowaterer while riding-Tevis - Jonni

I've seen these odd "auto watering" devices hooked to bits at Tevis this
year, and last year too. One of my thoughts would be that I'd wonder if a
horses thirst response might be diminished, if his mouth is kept constantly
wet from the little hose running to it, as to getting "dry and thirsty"
going down the trail. I can't see that the bladder could hold enough water
in it to truly rehydrate a horse on a ride such as Tevis, only keep his
mouth wet. Also, I'd have to consider if the extra weight of the water
bladder carried makes it "worth it" for the horse.
