Re: Fwd: Re: [RC] TWH/lope/gallop - Chris Paus

ROTFLMAO...

I get a big chuckle out of people who tell us to do
this wieh Arabs... let em run til they get tired.
yeah, right!

I knew that wouldn't work with Star when one day I
rode him 10 miles to the lake, at the lake rode round
and round in deeply cultivated field, rode up and down
and up and down a steep embankment, rode back home the
long way, and took a side trip in a neighbor's farm
field. At nearly the end of all this riding, I let
Star have his head in the farm field. He ran so hard,
my eyes were streaming tears.... I had to steer him in
big circles to slow him down...

LOL..

instructor suggested taking her into the hay field
and letting her run
until she got tired and then let her calmly walk
home. I think the idea
was for her to learn it was ok to walk. Round and
round that hay field
she went. Once in awhile she'd slow to a fast trot
but quickly regained
her desire to run. This went on for four hours
until finally she got
bored and they walked home.
