John, thanks for the help with my posting issue!

I am sooo upset this morning. I have been working to get a good saddle fit for
my mustang mare. I have purchased a breastcollar and it is no longer sliding
back and forth, but now it is rubbing on her withers and a small patch on her
left side. She has been under saddle for only a few months and I am very afraid
that she will learn to defend herself if the saddle keeps hurting. It is
getting so that I am almost afraid to ride her.

She tried to tell me things weren't right this morning by refusing to go out-
the first time she has ever done that and the first time I have ever had to put
my heels into her. I wasn't certain if she was anticipating the saddle sliding
back and forth as she has learned to anticipate pain from being bridled (her
head was out once) so I told her to get going.

I have listened to ya all talk about the search for the perfect saddle. It
looks like I am going to be joining the search. I am pasting a former post I
tried to send. If anyone has advice Please, Please help. I have one pony
already who learned to fight cause her former owner had a downhill saddle on
her. Both horses have the sweetest personalities but once they learn they can
evade work or try trick, well it's a whole new ball game. thanks in advance
cyndi

I am having a small problem with a new mustang mare. She is narrow and built
like a greyhound, with whithers. I have bought a western slick fork saddle
(very old school) to ride trails in and to use in mounted shooting. It is 29
inches front to back and seems to fit her pretty well. I need a really good
saddle blanket that will assist in keeping any pressure off her whithers as
they are prominent. I had the saddle checked for fit by a professional and have
been riding her in it, the only difficulty I have had so far is it slides back
when she runs uphill. I have a breastcollar on order to prevent that. I was
warned I
would need one but tried to put it off. Now I need a really good quality
western blanket with a little fullness.

I admit I have thought about passing an endurance saddle off as a McClellan
for the reenactment bit.

thanks for any help cyndi
