Re: [RC] Cell phones on the trail - Sisu West Ranch

If you really want to improve your service at remote ridecamps (my two examples are Steph and Johns rides and Ft. Howes) there are two things you can do.

The first is to get a rooftop antenna for your cell phone in your truck. It will turn "I almost have a signal " into a connection. The cost is moderate ($50-100)

The second, that I have not done yet, is to get an more powerful transmitter/receiver to put between your phone and the antenna. The cost is $250-300. I have not sprung for this yet, and would be interested to see if it does work as well as advertised and as it should.
