[RC] round bales-anybody feeding? - Gretchen

I feed round bales exclusively.  I buy them straight out of the field as soon as they’re baled and store them inside of my barn.  I don’t put a whole round bale in the pasture w/ the horses – they just waste most of it.  What I do instead is flip a round bale on its side inside of my barn and peel off enough hay for each horse for each feeding.  The last bales that I bought were 6x6 and probably weighed in at about 1600-2000 lbs each.  I’ve been working on the first bale for over 4 weeks and feeding 4 horses. I’ve just now gotten to the center of the bale.  Even the center is still nice and green and smells like it was just cut yesterday.
