[RC] pasture horse worming-daily, monthly, both? - Mary Krauss

Anyone know the best regimen for horses kept on pasture? Please don't suggest grooming the pasture--I have 3 babies and that's just not going to happen.... (I do scoop the run-ins weekly....)

I've been rotating a variety of wormers on a schedule suggested by our excellent veterinarian. Should I be using daily wormer too? I don't want to poison the horses--just the worms!

BTW--my horse nearly died of diarrhea after using one of those wormers that has Praziquantal (sp?) as an active ingredient. The vet suggested that the stuff shouldn't be on the market because it's simply too much poison for some horses. Guessed that 5% of users had a bad reaction. Anyone else have that problem or is my horse just special?
