I can't buy that at all. My only horse ( I have 7 ) with in high/low (and it's almost nonexistent thanks to a good farrier) never is "splayed out" when the eats. Without a good farrier he would be worse. His legs are always stright under him when he eats. I suspect it is genetic with him as it probably is with a lot of Arabians.


Someone mentioned a back issue keeping them from relaxing their backs, rounding it and stretching their necks down. That probably has more to do with the splaying out than anything else.
