Re: [RC] Equithotics Sneakers & Pedal Osteitis - Dabney Finch

I had an endurance horse once with pedal osteitis. Had a "corrective" shoer work on him (looked to me as if all he did was radically back off the toes) and the horse was back to endurance in a very short time!

As for Equithotics, I tried them and also picked up a couple of stones, and then my horse's hooves started to blow out with them, so that experiment was over.

Elfta is using a shoe now on Kaizen that is front half steel and back half just like sneakers--this is working the Best Yet!

Let me know if you want me to try to find out where she gets these and what they're called.

Subject: [RC] Equithotics Sneakers?

One of my horses has been diagnosed with pedal
osteitis, so it looks like any chance of her doing
distance are out of the window :( Right now, the
recommendation is to shoe her with Equithotics
Sneakers.

Apart from a really old memory of Steph Teeter
getting a perfect Sneaker-size rock wedged in the
hole, can anyone comment on foot care when shod
in these things? Do I need to get creative in
picking out her feet with a screwdriver instead
of a hoof-pick, or...?

I'm reading the archives, but I'm not seeing many
comments about them past 2000. I guess Sneakers went
out of fashion?
