[RC] [RC] Easyboot "teeth" - Dreamweaver

This page has photos and info on how I used to prepare the old model boots. http://www.redwrench.com/ezboot/default.htm

Since the new boots are different, I have been using kitchen scissors which work great for cutting the back of the boot the rest of the way down, and cutting the heelstrap down without needing to remove it. This makes it a lot easier! With the new plastic cover over the metal teeth there is really no need to flatten the teeth down any longer. If you are concerned about indentions on your hoofwall from that area, use a few layers of duct tape over that area to help smooth everything over. (I have a hard time not using duct tape for something <g>)

I have not been vetwrapping around the hoof because the boots I am using are such a snug fit, I don't think I could get them on. I don't really know, I haven't tried.

I have ridden Chief on training rides with 2 regular 2005 model easyboots on the front feet, and they have stayed on (over bare feet). I don't know if I would trust them to stay on for a full 50 miles though, especially with lots of mud and water crossings. For those times, I'll use the Epics. I don't think I could have kept the old model boots on him over barefeet. I really like the improvements they have made to the new boots.
