RE: [RC] Hoof nippers, files, for ladies - heidiMy favorite supply house is Overland Farrier Supply at 1-800-838-5277... It's owned by women and they are ex endurance riders! No web site, but great prices. I second the endorsement of Sharon and Carol (and their trusty helper Sara) at Overland Ranch and Farrier Supply. They not only stock or know where to get just about anything you could ever want with regard to farrier equipment, but they are also great about consultation regarding problem cases. I've known them and worked with them for years when I lived just down the road from them, but was particularly grateful for them when I was dealing with my colt with the shattered cannon bone a couple of years ago and he needed some pretty serious corrective help when he got out of his cast. They were 600 miles away, but gave me advice over the phone and faxed me information about some types of corrective shoes. One for foals was just the ticket--it didn't come big enough for my fellow, but thanks to their information, we were able to model a homemade shoe after the same idea, and it did the trick.
