Re: [RC] HELP! save my trees! - heidi larson

Shelly, it might be showing a selenium deficiency.  Also, you can take Irish Spring soap and rub all over the bark/trees.  It does come off in the rain, but at least it's fairly cheap and you can reapply and it shouldn't hurt anything!

==========================================

I am trying to find a way to keep my horse from eating the 15 large trees in his 1/2 acre dry lot. He already has plenty of salt and hay so it shouldn't be nutritional, and I don't want to nail wire back on the trees because it breaks and leaves sharp edges. I can't fence the trees in because they are not in a cluster. I would use creosote if you could get it but, alas, it has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Is there any paint-on stuff that works and where do I but it? The local places around here don't sell anything like that because they say nothing works.
Thanks- Shelly
