Side clips help retaining shoes on poor feet, but I strongly suspect that the horse is reaching forward with his rear and pulling the shoe off. Shoes pulled off in mud or at extreme speed are a common problem. There are a number of changes in shoeing that can be used to fix this problem.

If your farrier can not change the timing enough to fix this, get a different farrier.
