[RC] re: Brand Inspections - Cindy Collins

P.S. Truman and others: Do not assume that I agree with these archaic
rules, I am just trying to prevent heartache for out-of-staters. You may
come through and never be stopped or asked to show papers. Or, you could
be stopped two or three times in Wyoming. It is a money maker for the
state and the inspectors and while many of them are very nice folks who
will be understanding, there is another group of them who are jerks and
who enjoy hassling folks from other places. There was a brand inspector
in Thermopolis, WY in the 1980s who made me unload my grey Arab ONE-EYED
gelding every time I drove from Riverton to the rides in the Big Horn
Basin. I asked him if he thought I stole grey Arab geldings and then
poked one eye out every time! He had no sense of humor. He just liked
jerking me around and wasting my time. Cindy
