It is always nice to have a facility nearby.  Unfortunately, much of our rural NW does not have that advantage, so we go to Plan B.  Actually, if one were to get it in the lungs, it might be better off to be not diluted at all, as it is readily absorbed.  I've heard stories about it being hard on sensitive tissue, but I've also gargled with 1/3 DMSO and 2/3 water to deal with extreme sore throats and laryngitis to good effect.  Main reason why I don't like to do it is the taste--it doesn't have any other ill effect.

There are those who are allergic to it, and they can purtnear collapse with just a light topical application.  But then one can get that with purtnear any drug, too.

And even 100 ml DMSO will have considerable clinical effect--diluted 50-50, that's just three or four big squirts with a large syringe...

I agree, it is always nicer to be able to just turn the horse over to the docs in a well-equipped facility.  But it is also nice to have a fallback when that is not a readily-available option...

In any event, thanks for your feedback.  There are sure a lot of differing views on DMSO, although most folks do agree that it is a help in acute inflammatory processes.
