Can you swing your center divider to one side?  When I do long hauls with one horse I swing the center divider over and hook it to one side thus making kind of a slant load type trailer.  I don't tie my horse.  I use the space left on the other side for hay, buckets and feed storage.  My mare can't turn around, but has plenty of room to balance, plus still has the divider to lean against for bracing if need be.   Although I hope I am not taking corners so fast that she needs to.  ;-)  I normally haul anywhere from 4 to 14 hours to a ride.  With breaks of course.
